TEHRAN – Forty-two lawmakers have signed a petition, which calls for the removal of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s son-in-law, Mahdi Khorshidi-Azad, who was appointed as the director of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) on Monday.

MPs believe that Khorshidi-Azad does not have the professional qualifications needed for running one of the most specialized state organizations. `
